The area surrounding Blackmount has inspired many
artists, the most famous of whom is the landscape painter Sir Edwin Landseer, most well known for The Monarch of the Glen who was a frequent
visitor to Blackmount.
Another well know artist who
visited here was Francis Seymour Hayden, the brother in law of James McNeil
Whistler who was known as an artist in his own right and made an engraving of pines at Inveroran in
